Fall open house pics & you thought we disappeared!

Friday, September 21, 2007

We had a week that was a flurry of pricing, detail work, moving things around, cleaning, late nights and early*early mornings! This morning as I was driving Luke to my Mother's house, there is a small stretch of the road that is very pretty. Woods on both sides, it curves slightly, the leaves are changing, well it's peaceful. (these are rural country roads, y
ou might pass a car and likely you won't) When I reached the bend in the road a thought popped into my head, we sometimes are driving along and things are going fine until we come to a bend in the road, and "things" seem to unravel. Lately "things" have been challenging, and I have questioned if the benefits outweigh the costs.
BUT, WHAT IF WE GIVE UP BEFORE THE BEND AND IF WE WOULD JUST KEEP GOING, EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE & STRAIGHTEN OUT! We are so capable of thinking of the here & now and if we would look ahead there is a lot of tremendous excitings things happening AFTER THE BEND IN ROAD!
Looking up & looking out: we'll keep you posted on the exciting things that will be coming to fruition "after our bend in the road"! Happy Fall, it's officially here today.

also a little song was sung to me this morning by Darcy's children
"Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Kara
Happy Birthday to you
CHA, CHA, CHA!"
(yes, they did say the last three words!)
I'm 3 decades + 3 years old today!

So will you be having a booth at the fair next weekend? And if you do, will you bring your wonderful measuring pitchers? I have wanted one ever since I saw them in your shop this summer. I was there for the first time during the sidewalk days before Annie Oakley Days and I have desired one ever since. I don't know why I didn't get one while I was there. Probably because I was too busy buying other lovely things in your shop.

We saw that you will be at the fair this weekend and can't wait to meet you and see your goods! We check in with your blog every so often - we have thought about taking a road trip to see your lovely store, and then, when we saw that you will be ther this weekend -YEA! We then saw you are on @ Home Vintage General's blog (we visited there this past June and LOVED it) and thought we'd say hi! Keep up the good work!!

Kara,

You are just a spring chicken, happy birthday! Sorry I am late in the well-wishes.

I must say I am loving your shop. I especially love the yummy colors, all those pillows and really everything is filled beautiful color!

I just bought the Seda vanilla nutmeg candle, WOW, does that ever smell good! I think I might've seen it in your photo.

Thanks for sharing so many wonderful pictures, makes me feel like I really spent some time in your lovely shop! Something I would do in person, if I could!

Take care!

Kara and Darcy, your store is absolutely stunning. Your displays are perfectly gorgeous and it is apparent that your merchandise is chosen with care. I wish I lived close enough to visit. Maybe one of these days Ann and I will make the pilgrimage. We have several customers in Ohio now to justify the trip...
